*A Message About COVID-19*

When the New Jersey State Shelter in Place Mandate occurred on March 13th, 2020, we were no longer able to use our current model of congregational rotations. We needed to pivot and pivot quickly. We are happy to report that we have successfully re-housed our families into static locations. Static locations are a fixed site for the families to stay, and volunteers to provide the hospitality from afar. The static site model also engages our congregational and community partners. Our families are doing well and are all safe.

However, this program model change came at significant expense–an expense that was sudden and unexpected. Many of you have asked how you can help the neediest and most vulnerable in our community during these scary and uncertain times. One easy way is to make a contribution to our shelter program, which you can do by clicking on the “Donate” link at the top of this page. Every dollar we raise helps provide shelter for homeless and housing-insecure families, so anything helps. Thank you for your generosity.

Did you know that this year, more than 2.5 million American children and their family will experience homelessness?

Homeless families are often hidden from our view—they are living in shelters, cars, campgrounds, or doubled up in overcrowded apartments. The most cited reasons for family homelessness are: lack of affordable housing, unemployment, and poverty.

So what can you do to help?
